Before and After Photos of Lingual Braces
Lingual braces are metal braces placed on the inside surface of your teeth. The work to straighten your teeth in almost the same manner as traditional metal braces. Because the mechanics of teeth movement are working on the opposite side of your teeth, lingual braces are generally recommended for more standard cases. A consultation is first made to assess your suitability for lingual braces.
As you could imagine, some types of deep bites are not as suitable for lingual braces as you tend to bite the braces and overpower the mechanics. Assuming you are suitable for lingual braces, a mould is taken to accurately set up your brackets. The next step is to bond the brackets and engage the archwire into the brackets. Just like normal braces, you come back monthly to have adjustments and wire changes. And then you watch in amazement as it seems like you are not wearing braces at all but your teeth are slowly straightening!!
